Welcome to the 20th India International Seafood Show - 23rd to 25th September 2016

India International Seafood Show (IISS) is one of the largest Seafood Fairs in Asia. It is a biennial event, which offers a platform of opportunities for exporters and importers of Indian marine products, processors, resource specialists and personnel of both capture and culture fisheries, processing machinery manufacturers and allied sectors, to meet under one roof, facilitating participants and trade visitors to conduct business, upgrade technologies, network and exchange ideas for mutual benefit and further business and trade relations. The very objective of organizing the IISS is to highlight India's commitment on safe and sustainable practices in fisheries, both capture and culture. With increasing emphasis on aquaculture, the theme of IISS 2016 will be "SAFE AND SUSTAINABLE INDIAN AQUACULTURE"

The Show


20th India International Seafood Show at Visakhapatnam.

The first seafood show was held at Mumbai in 1973. The last three events held at Chennai in 2010, 2012 and 2014 gave an international stature to IISS, making it an event which is looked forward to, by the global sea food community.

Indian aquaculture gaining a strong foothold in the international market in the recent years, the emphasis for the current year therefore has shifted to aquaculture. It was therefore, felt appropriate, that IISS 2016, should be ideally held in Andhra Pradesh, the aquaculture capital state of India. Vishakapatnam, the important port city of Andhra, an important commercial hub of this state, with its scenic beauty, was selected as the ideal location for holding IISS 2016, from 23rd to 25th September, 2016 at the Vishakapatnam Port Trust Diamond Jubilee stadium.

The India International Seafood Show is India's largest Seafood Trade Exposition offering tremendous scope for tapping new avenues and introducing various technologies and products to the global market. With multi fold increase in Litopenaeus vannamei production, India is poised for significant increase in production infrastructure. IISS 2016 provides great opportunities to forge new partnerships and strengthen the existing relationship amongst all sectors associated with the seafood industry.

India exported quality seafood worth US $ 4.7 Billion (Provisional) in 2015-16 and is expected to achieve US $ 10 Billion in 2020.This revolves around increased aquaculture production with emphasis on safety and sustainability and this event will facilitate participants to make their plans to be an essential part of this growth story.

India is the second largest aquaculture producer in the world, largest supplier of Shrimp to USA, the second largest exporter of shrimps to Europe and fourth largest exporter of shrimps to Japan. India has world class seafood processing plants that follow quality control regimes, compliant to stringent international regulatory requirements.

IISS 2016 is focusing on "Safe and Sustainable Indian Aquaculture " to highlight the technological advances and sustainable practices followed in Capture & Culture Fisheries in India. Indian Fishermen, Aqua Farmers and Seafood Exporters have made it their tradition to conduct their activities in a sustainable way and in harmony with nature. Increasing exports of value added exports to about half of the total quantity, will also be a key component of marine products export plan of India. They way to go forward on this will involve more technological back-up, which can be provided through the participants of this show from abroad and in India.
